Jewish Baby University - This innovative 6 week program designed for first time parents combines childbirth education with an exploration of Jewish traditions and rituals connected with pregnancy, birth, parenting and raising a family.
Honeymoon Israel - Spend nine exhilarating, romantic and memorable days exploring Israel in luxury with the one you love. Welcoming Jewish/Jewish, interfaith and LGBTQ couples.
One Happy Camper - The Papernick Family Foundation, in partnership with the Jewish Federation’s Centennial Fund for a Jewish Future and the Foundation for Jewish Camp, offers grants to children attending Jewish overnight camp for the first time: $700 for a period of 12-18 consecutive days, or $1000 for a period of 19 consecutive days or more.
Friendship Circle - The Friendship Circle aims to enrich the lives of children and young adults with and without special needs through mutually advantageous interactions to create lasting friendships.
J-Serve - J-Serve is a peer led volunteer organization for teens in 6th through 12th grade.
JCC - The Jewish Community Centers are frequent locations for family based events.
PJ Library - Shalom Pittsburgh co-hosts several PJ Library events throughout the year. The perfect way to engage your youngest with literacy and culture.
Annual Events for Families
Jewish Heritage Night with the Pittsburgh Pirates - It's the game of the year – no matter who we play! Let's Go Bucs!
Pasta/Pancakes Before Passover - Spend time with PJ Library and other families in the days before Passover. Have a hot meal and a lot of pre-Passover fun!
Apples & Honey Fall Festival - Celebrate a Sweet New Year at the Waterfront with apples and honey, crafts, Velcro wall, bounce house, shofar making, vendors, food and more!
Kidz Swap and Shop - The biggest swap meet of the year! Proceeds benefit the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank and distributed to local families in need. All donations will be administered by the Volunteer Center.
