Why do you think it’s important to give to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh?
The power of the collective. To me, Federation represents the power of the collective – times two. First, collective giving – by giving together we have the power to do more than we can do alone. And second, collective distribution. By giving to Federation, I have the opportunity to support multiple agencies, needs, and communities that I wouldn’t have the power to reach otherwise.
What is your most memorable Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh event?
Favorite Event: Ben and Becca’s B’nai Mitzvah – our YAD main event in 2016. It was a live dinner theater recreation of an early nineties experience. It was a ridiculous amount of work and so much fun. Best Jewish Federation experience – hands down Birthright Israel. Of course I had no idea the Jewish Federation supported the trip when I went in college but it was my first trip to Israel, it cemented several lifetime friendships, and helped ignite a different sort of spark of Jewishness.
If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
A house cat. Lots of napping. Someone to take care of all of your basic needs. And attention totally on your own terms.
